The CPC20712 Certificate II in Drainage is comprised of 22 units of competency. 18 of these units are classified as Core units and are mandatory for every person seeking the qualification. The remaining 4 units are classified as electives and may be selected based on your predominant experience within the trade.

Core Industry Training offers the CPC20712 Certificate II in Drainage qualification via an assessment only pathway (Recognition of Prior learning - RPL). You can have your current experience, skills and knowledge assessed against the requirements of the qualification.
The RPL assessments are designed for those people currently working within the plumbing, building and construction industry as drainers and want to be assessed for the qualification based on their current experience and skill levels.
To attain recognition, you will need to present evidence that shows you can satisfy the requirements of the qualification.

You will be issued with an RPL Assessment Manual that will detail how the assessment will take place. In brief, the assessment will consist of workplace visits and observations and participating in conversations with your assessor where you will discuss your knowledge of the different aspects of the trade.
You must be able to demonstrate a minimum of two years relevant experience to validate your ability to competently and successfully undertake the range of drainage tasks.
You should also possess an adequate level of language, literacy and numeracy skills sufficient enough to read and interpret building plans, specifications, codes and standards as well as undertake a variety of calculations.
You must also have completed the general OHS construction safety induction course and obtained a white card (or equivalent), together with a basic first aid course, obtaining a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency HLTFA211A Provide basic emergency life support (or equivalent).
The RPL process does not have a minimum time frame, although the average time taken to gather the required evidence and conduct the assessment will generally be around four to six weeks.
Remember, the quicker you collect and submit all required evidence to your assessor the quicker the assessment can be completed and your qualification issued.

Alternative payment plans via Direct Deposit or Credit Card are available at $290 per calender month unitl fees are paid in full. A 5% administration fee applies to this service and is included in the monthly fee.
